Cesar Rivas has over 33 years of coaching experience. He began his career as a soccer coach in El Salvador at Escuela Americana, where he participated in several national, Central American, and international tournaments. In addition to coaching, he also served as a Mathematics and Physical Education teacher.
His journey as a volleyball coach started 8 years ago when he became the head coach of Pinole Middle School's volleyball team. Since then, he has dedicated himself to learning everything about the sport in order to give his players the best skills possible. In addition to coaching at PMS, he also coaches at the Richmond Police Activities League, where he works with girls from the West Contra Costa School District, providing them with a space to learn and develop their volleyball skills.
As the head coach of EBS, Cesar focuses on technique, skill and foundation development, and movement analysis for each of his players. He is an immersive coach who demonstrates every drill and enjoys jumping in to scrimmage with the girls. He never stays on the sidelines. He is passionate and committed to ensuring that every player performs to the best of their abilities!
